Tropical Fruit Salad

Your own home made fruit salad is extremely easy to make taking about 5 minutes to prepare. It's a light refreshing end to a meal, and is great to prepare in advance of a dinner party to impress your guests.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 water melon
  • 4 Nectarines
  • 2 bunches of grapes
  • 2 bananas
  • 12 lychees

Method

  • Wash you hands and wash all the fruit.
  • Chop water melon into slices and then into large cubes and place in a mixing bowl.
  • Cut around the nectarines with a sharp knife and twist to split into halves. Remove the seed with a teaspoon. Then chop the nectaries in to bite sized chunks. Add to the mixing bowl.
  • Pick your grapes and add them to the mixing bowl
  • Chop your bananas and add to the mixing bowl. (You might want to add banana prior to serving to prevent them turning brown).
  • If you can buy fresh lychees, they are a very sweet tropical treat to add to a fruit salad. Otherwise, you can buy them from your supermarket peeled in a tin which is just as nice. Add to the mixing bowl.
  • Liberally squeeze lemon juice over the fruit and lightly toss in the mixing bowl.
  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place in the bottom of your fridge until you are ready to serve.
  • Serve in dessert bowls with a dollop of thickened cream or ice cream (gluten free).
